While serving as youth director of the Bahamas Conference, now The South Bahamas Conference some thirty years ago, seated at my desk on a beautiful Monday morning, I found myself mentally conscious yet paralyzed physically after an exhausting camping weekend with scores of young people. I could hear and see all that was taking place around me but could not move or respond to my secretary who had reason to interact with me during this strange occurrence.

Mentally the mind had to talk with the body and invite all facets of my being to calm down. This process took over thirty minutes before life returned to every single cell in my body. What a frightening experience for me. A million and one possibilities ran through my mind during that period. Could this be the end for me, would some

physical damaged be done to my body, what was the caused of this all?

Messages had to be sent from the communication centre (the mind)to tell the rest of my body to relax and calm down. Yes paralyzed.

While this physical occurrence put a freeze on my person, due to exhaustion, and overwork, many lives today are paralyzed simply because of one four-letter word; FEAR. Yes, fear is the instigator of paralysis in a myriad of lives today, which ultimately leads to death.

The lion is known as the king of the jungle not so much because it is a most physically superior animal out there but more so because of it intimidating roar which puts fear in the heart of other animals causing them to pause sufficiently enough to give the lion to attack its prey. Yer the roar paralyzes the foe.

Because of fear, the prey slows its pace sufficiently enough to be attacked and conquered.

The roar of life has, in many cases, caused persons to slow to a screeching halt, stunting GROWTH beating folk into a spirit of pause when life is all about movement.

Examine your life today and ask the question, Is there forward motion in my life, or am I at spinning around in circles and worse yet at a standstill.

The roar of life in many instanced breeds paralysis.

Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of being ridiculed, the fear of rejection, the fear of getting hurt, the fear of losing out, the fear of something terrible happening,

the fear of being judged, the fear of change, the fear of missing out, the fear of rejection, the fear of missing out, the fear of uncertainty, the fear of inadequacy.

If you would like to overcome your fear of life, begin by ignoring the roar of life, and keep moving towards goals designed by the creator for you. Fear only diminishes human

potential given as a gift by our creator God, and causes one to lose out on the abundant blessings by Creator God.

If you would like to GROWTH in God’s design for your life and overcome fear, the coaching staff here at the Blossoming Academy can assist you now.

Are the odds stacked against you? Are you overwhelmed by life’s problems? Is your life in ruins? Do you face conflict day after day?

Then 10 Prayers of Faith For Tough Times: is the book for you. Yes! Examine Nehemiah’s Winning Strategies for times like these.

Contemplating the question above terms like being between a rock and a hard place. Another phrase that echoes the same sentiment is, “between the devil and the deep blue sea”.

It is believed that the phrased originated in the USA early in the 20th century. It is not unique however as other cultures reflect a similar sentiment. My Grandpa Fred would say take it or leave it but it is better that you received it.

The earliest known printed citation of 'between a rock and a hard place' is in the American Dialect Society's publication Dialect Notes V, 1921:

Such saying would cast people in seemly no wiggle room or a way of escape for whatever their existing estate.

“The dilemma of being in a position where one is faced with two equally unwelcome options appears to lie deep in the human psyche.”

The tone and language of such saying post a preoccupation of an uncomfortable nature of the choice between two extremes.

Here is where Nehemiah finds himself. Bondage in a strange land, and the dim prospect of a return to debunked homeland with wall’s destroyed, gates burned, and brink in rubbles.

A home that embellished the hope of every Jewish mind, promised, and now depopulated and destroyed.

The Cupbearer is disquieted, disturbed and distorted as to the way forward especially in light of God’s covenant to protect and provide.

If he looks back there is destruction, in front of him is perpetual servitude to a foreign King.

This was enough to cause Nehemiah to lose it all, his physical reality confronted Nehemiah and at this point faith kicked in.

Distrust of self was embraced and faith accessed God which drove God’s servant to prayer.  Yes he remembered his closet moments back in

Their he retreated and cried out to God, and renewed strength proper up the man of God, growth took place and inaction gave way to work’s

of faith.

In this cover-19 pandemic, it is as if the enemy has ushered disciples into a far place, and many have repeated to dark places of dispart and retreated to doldrums of possible demise.

Yes remembering one’s secret hiding place where faith cries out to God in difficult times, is the key to removing the enemies weapons formed again any servant of God.

So I can hear God say to the devil, devil tear that wall down, NOW!!!!!!!!
